Newsletter 29th November 2019

This half term we will be looking at the following value:

  • Respect

Attendance for this week is 96.58%.

At the end of this term Chris Squire will be retiring from her role as CAST leader. Chris has done a marvellous job in setting up the club, arranging lots of themed weeks and has helped to ensure that Charlton offers an excellent all round provision to support families. I am sure you will all join me in thanking Chris for her tremendous contribution and commitment to the school.

In light of this news, we will be looking for someone to take on the role from January. We have included details later on in the newsletter.

Within school this week, children have had the opportunity to showcase their writing skills through their independent NEWT work. I look forward to seeing the progress made over the past month.

Next week is Assessment week in Key Stage One and Two. This will provide children from year one upwards a chance to demonstrate all that they have learnt since September and to show you and the teacher the progress made.

From January we plan to start a street dance club for children in Key Stage Two. Street dance is a great way to keep fit, improve coordination and make new friends. Please speak to your child to see if they would like to join. We do however need eight or more children for this club to happen so please can you complete the survey on Forms/Clubs/Street Dancing Club.

Don't forget to sign up for the Christmas Film Special on 19th Dec using the Form on the School Life App.

On a final note, following on from the Full Governor's Meeting on Wednesday, I can confirm that we will be looking for a new Governor to join the school. More details will be released next week.

Have a great weekend.

Mr Griffin
