Welcome to Charlton-on-Otmoor School Eco-Council
Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary School Eco-Council
A new Eco-Council is elected for each academic year. In September, the children are asked if they would like to represent their year group by becoming an Eco-Warrior and we hold elections in class to nominate a representative for each year group.
Our School Eco-Warriors are lead the school through the process of maintaining Eco Schools Green Flag Award. We are very proud to have gained accreditation for the past 5 years!
Ten steps have to be carried out by the Eco Council to raise awareness of many eco issues and encourage the children at Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary School to become informed citizens and to care for and understand their planet.
Over the past few years, we have raised over £250 for WWF; participated in 'Cut your Carbon'; litter picked around the community; celebrated World Water Day; planted new flowers and trees on the school grounds; and plenty more!
If you are looking for ideas on how to be more eco-friendly, or would like to do know more, these websites provide plenty of ideas for children:
